AFE at the 2002 PFA Rally

After the disappointment of the cancellation of the 2001 PFA Rally, we came to the 2002 rally determined to enjoy our best show ever - and we succeeded!! As sponsors of the show we were delighted to see so many airborne visitors arriving so early and it was clear even by Thursday night that a vintage show was in prospect.

Nestled between Wilsch aero engines and Europa we had a great view of the proceedings - or at least we would if we could have seen past the hoards of visitors to the stand. Friday was the busiest we've ever known and Saturday: well Saturday just passed in a blur of untouched coffee and uneaten sandwiches.

Look at our Cranfield team photo - taken at our Saturday night barbecue - and decide for yourself if it's the work or the alcohol that reduces normally coherent human beings to such a sorry state!

Clichéd as it sounds, there really are too many people to thank for making the show a vintage event, however special thanks to Yvonne and Natasha who coped brilliantly at their first PFA rally, David Smith for just happening to chance along with a set of jump leads at the right moment, the Today's Pilot team (fellow Rally sponsors), the unpaid PFA volunteers who were unfailingly helpful with our seemingly bizarre requests, and all the visitors to our stand without whom the whole exercise would have been rather pointless!

We hope you all enjoyed the Rally as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you in 2003. In the meantime we welcome all entries for a caption to the photo of an airborne visitor who passed by on Sunday morning - prize to be announced at Cranfield 2003.
